GETTING AROUND:
Twelve miles north of the boundary between Maryland and the District of
Columbia, ten miles from the NIH/Medical Center campus in Bethesda. It's a
four-minute drive to the Shady Grove Metro Rail station, the northernmost
point on the Red Line, connecting you to the entire Washington metropolitan
area. (A 15-minute subway ride to the Medical Center(NIH), which has its own
station.) It's also just a five-minute walk to Shady Grove Boulevard, where
four Ride-On bus routes converge on their last stop before the Metro Rail
station. This is a perfect location for commuting to almost anywhere in
Washington, suburban Maryland, northern Virginia, or the Baltimore area.

There's a supermarket, drug store, restaurants, etc., nearby, and SR-355 (
Wisconsin Ave./Rockville Pike/Frederick Pike) is a few blocks further, the
main highway through Montgomery County with all the shopping and other
resources of Chevy Chase, Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg and Germantown
spread out before you. You're ten minutes away from two malls, Costco, two
fitness centers, Blockbuster, a movie complex, K-mart, restaurants from
dozens of cultures, and Trader Joe's, a fabulous specialty market. There's
an on-ramp to the I-370 connector not far away, which quickly takes you to I
-270 and connects to the I-495 Beltway.
