Thousand Islands region is definitely picture beautiful. The lake actually is
River Lawrence. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of, islets
dotted on the river. Some of these islets are habitated by human while most
are not. There are some famouns buildings such like the Boldt Castle. The
river was crystal clear (last summer when I visited here). However, it is only
worth one day trip because there are not many activities for you if you do not
have your own boats or yachts. You can take the cruise boat, which is pretty
much the only means to tour the region.
